Six product lines

Every line below is built at Wingfield. Dimensions and payloads are worked out against your chassis, so the figures here describe the range rather than your vehicle.

7.5 – 26 tonne

Rigid truck bodies

Insulated bodies built onto a customer-supplied chassis, from a two-pallet metro body up to a 26 tonne multi-drop unit with a side door each side.

  • GRP skin over a foamed polyurethane core, 75 to 125 mm wall
  • Bonded one-piece floor with a coved kerb
  • Rear roller shutter, barn doors or a tail lift aperture
  • Chassis-matched subframe, no drilling of the rail
13.6 m standard

Semi-trailer bodies

Full-length insulated trailer bodies for line-haul work, built on a customer's running gear or supplied as a body kit to a trailer builder.

  • Single or twin evaporator installations
  • Load-through bulkhead options
  • Internal aluminium scuff rail to 1.2 m
  • Roof-mounted duct for even air throw over 13.6 m
Two or three zones

Multi-temperature

Movable bulkheads and independent evaporators so that frozen, chilled and ambient product travel in the same body without compromising any of them.

  • Two and three-compartment layouts
  • Track-mounted insulated bulkheads, repositionable in service
  • Independent set point and defrost per zone
  • Zone temperature logged separately
3.5 tonne and under

Van conversions

Panel van conversions for last-mile and pharmaceutical work, built to keep as much payload and internal height as the insulation allows.

  • Wet-lay GRP lining or a dry-fit panel kit
  • 50 to 75 mm walls depending on duty
  • Sealed floor with a fully welded drain
  • Load-restraint rails set into the lining
6 to 40 m³

Portable cold stores

Standalone insulated stores on skids or a container base, for site work, seasonal overflow and depots that need capacity before they need a building.

  • Skid-mounted or container-framed
  • Single-phase and three-phase plant options
  • Anti-slip floor rated for pallet trucks
  • Relocatable by hiab without dismantling
Any make

Refurbishment

Rebuilding an existing body: relining, floor replacement, door and seal renewal, and insulation repair where a panel has been holed.

  • Delamination and moisture ingress survey first
  • Panel replacement rather than patching where the core is wet
  • Door frame and seal renewal as a set
  • Written condition report whether or not we do the work

Not sure which body suits the work?

Describe the route, the drop pattern and the product temperature. We will tell you what we would build, including when the answer is a smaller body than you asked for.
